چکیده
Low-energy X-rays are widely used during clinical examinations, therefore we need to reduce exposure dose medical staff by using radiation shielding products. Current X-ray materials fabricated embedding high-atomic-number metal particles into a base material. It is valuable derive knowledge concerning and ability from actual experimentation. This necessary because it unrealistic mimic many in the Monte-Carlo simulation. Understanding effect of particle size on reduction factor important, but at this time systematic clarification has not been achieved. In study, aim investigate ability. 28 investigational products were prepared clay. Lead, bismuth oxide having diameters between 1.8 ?m 211.3 used. The effective mass thicknesses related metals (lead or bismuth) set 2,400 g/m2, 1,200 g/m2 600 resulting maximum factors 94.5%, 84.8% 68.0%, respectively. these measured "International Standard Testing Geometry" with tube voltage 70 kV. As result, found that high can be obtained when 40 less. Furthermore, decreased embedded various such as polymer sheets, loss was 2.4% Our findings provide insight development novel guarantee reliability previous studies simulations.

Comparing X-ray dose reduction capability of silicon-bismuth micro- and nanocomposite shields using chest CT test
Comparison of radiation shields of different thicknesses and structures (especially different particle sizes of their constituents) is helpful to select an appropriate shield for patient protection in medical imaging tests particularly CT-scan. In this study micro- and nano-powders of bismuth were mixed with silicone matrix to make composite radiation shields for breast. The shields were provid...

Shielding radiation from both x-rays and gamma-rays is important for personnel in medical fields e.g. interventional radiology, nuclear power stations, and other inspection facilities where radiation is involved. Lead is known for its effective shielding property against these high energy radiations, however heaviness and toxicity are its main drawback. In this study effectiveness of non-lead p...

The aim of this research is to investigate different X-ray based quantitative phase analysis methods for determination of cristobalite phase content in ceramic cores. For this purpose, four popular routes including peak absolute intensity method, relative intensity ratio method, direct or calibration method and internal standard (or Alexander-Klug) method have been chosen. Some control samples ...
متن کاملExperimental study of lead (II) removal using polymorphous silica adsorbents
Adsorption of lead(II) as a major heavy metal pollutant onto nano-adsorbents of Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite was studied in a batch system. Nano-adsorbents were prepared via crushing, using a planetary ball mill and then characterized by different analyses such as: SEM, XRD, XRF and FT-IR. Major factors affecting the adsorption process were studied including pH, adsorbents dosage, initi...
